Alcohol and its Social Impact
Aim: To explore a range of social issues that contribute to the government spending of 21 billion a year to alcohol related issues in the U.K.
Objectives:
By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:
- Examine the complex relationship between alcohol consumption and domestic abuse/interpersonal violence.
- Analyse a sociological model that explores external and environmental factors contributing to violent crimes and alcohol use.
- Compare different areas in Leeds to understand geographical influences on domestic violence statistics.
- Identify key characteristics of both victims and perpetrators, and explain the role of alcohol in their interactions.
- Assess the impact of domestic violence and alcohol misuse on children within affected families.
