    We are seeking a Consultant Addiction Psychiatrist to work within the specialist Co-occurring Mental Health Alcohol and Drugs (COMHAD) team within the Forward Leeds partnership. The post holder would be based in Leeds and expected to work across the three main hubs where care is delivered. There is a part-time clinical lead and consultant addiction psychiatrist, a speciality doctor, and junior doctors on rotation including Higher, Core and Foundation trainees.

    The purpose of this role is to work to support people whose lives are affected by alcohol and drug use (predominantly non-opiates).

    As a member of Forward Leeds Focussed Intervention Team for Primary Care you will be at the forefront of Forward Leeds drug and alcohol service. The role will involve delivering interventions to people who identify as needing support to address their substance use and are seeking support via their GP. This will primarily relate to alcohol use, but may include non-opiate substances.

    We welcome applicants with their own lived experience, who may be looking to work within substance misuse services for the first time.

    What we are looking for? 

    We are looking for people with experience of working with people with issues around alcohol and/or drugs and providing structured support through assessing needs and care planning treatment goals as well as delivering structured 1-1 interventions.

    You will need to be able to work independently within Primary Healthcare settings, as well as part of a citywide team, and have a proactive approach to engaging with people and partner agencies.

    The Family Plus team work within Forward Leeds supporting families of service users engaged within treatment for issues around drugs and alcohol. The team engage on a preventative and early help model, engaging with families whose requirements are below the child protection threshold. The purpose of the engagement is to improve the functioning of the family and assist in getting available support to maintain changes. The team consists of family-plus workers based across each of the three Forward Leeds sites, an emotional health and wellbeing worker who works exclusively with the children of the families a senior worker and a Team Manager.

    What we are looking for?

    We are looking for someone with experience in providing intensive case support for families with children of any age to support the family in care planning achieving recovery and ensuring that children are safeguarded at all times. We are looking for people who are comfortable working in close association with all the different teams within Forward Leeds.

    The Student Recovery Programme Coordinator is an exciting new role within a passionate and dynamic team, where you can help to make a real difference to the lives of students in Leeds.

    Having identified a gap in the support for university students with substance use issues, Forward Leeds are looking to bring their expertise, enthusiasm, and ideas to those who need it.

    We aim to provide a secure space for mutual aid groups, sober activities and access to Forward Leeds Treatment services and recovery service. Expanding to various campuses this role caters to students, staff and those impacted by substance use challenges in the University setting.

  • Peer Mentor Coordinator

    We have an exciting role as a Health and Wellbeing Nurse within our CQC rated outstanding service, Forwards Leeds, where you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing good clinical practice.   • Enhanced Recovery Coordinator

    As an Enhanced Care team Recovery Coordinator, you will support higher need service users who are unable to progress their timeframe due to their multiple-needs. Multiple needs include but not limited to;  chronic physical health, comorbidities, financial issues, memory/cognitive impairment, age, housing, limited social support and other multi-agency support needs.

    This is an interesting and rewarding role where you will have the flexibility to complete greater levels of outreach and go to service users to reduce barriers to engagement, support them to engage with specialist services, bring the intensive support and interventions to the individuals and enhance positive outcomes through this flexible working.

    The post holder will provide holistic support to adult service users to support their drug / alcohol treatment. Key roles and responsibilities include:

    • Assess and engage with those individuals identified to have multiple needs who require a more flexible way of working including outreach support to reduce identified barriers to engagement with mainstream support in a service setting due to their identified additional needs.
    • Manage a service user caseload and review on going care and treatment liaising closely with the full range of specialist workers within the multi-agency team, including family members and significant others, as appropriate.
    • The role will include but is not restricted to conducting home visits, supporting clients to appointments with various services/specialisms as well as meeting individuals in the community.
    • To exercise excellent communication skills and therapeutic skills when dealing with Service Users, Carers, and Caring agencies.
    • To work closely and in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team from across the Forward Leeds partnership and externally providing advice and guidance to managers and other colleagues, through attendance at reviews, team meetings and group supervision and via the telephone.

    The Young Person’s team deliver drug and alcohol related interventions for young people (up to 21 years, or 24 years, depending on vulnerability) across Leeds. The team works on a predominantly outreach basis, delivering one-one sessions in a variety of community settings, including school and home visits. This post will focus on the under 18’s cohort.

    The role may also include delivering targeted group work sessions, drop-ins and service promotion at events. This will be through local community events, city wide events and at other public facing venues and arenas. The candidate will need to be engaging and comfortable with approaching and talking to members of the public and delivering opportunistic brief interventions. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
