Forward Leeds had a team in the Dragon Boat Races at the Leeds Waterfront Festival on Saturday 23 June and a stand offering advice and information around alcohol and drugs.
Although Forward Leeds did not win the overall competition the team raised almost £1000 for the Family Plus team who run groups and activities with clients that let families spend positive time together.
Sophie Parker, Lead Practitioner for the Family Plus team said: “It’s important for Forward Leeds to be at the city’s events like the Leeds Waterfront Festival.”
Sophie continued: “We’re here to offer advice and information for those who want it but it’s more than that. We are a part of the fabric of the city now and we want to get involved and support great events like this one.”
Visitors to the Forward Leeds stand included local MP Hilary Benn who was interested to learn the views of the Forward Leeds staff about cannabis and spice.
