A professional recruitment team from AMS provided employment advice to people supported by Forward Leeds at a special event in the city.
Eight recruiters from AMS, the agency that recruit for the HSBC Bank, ran the workshop for the clients of Forward Leeds’s Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment service as part of their volunteering day.
AMS presented the do’s and do not’s for CV’s and interviews, along with a wealth of great tips and advice for people looking for work.
After the presentation, the IPS clients were assigned an individual recruiter who did a CV walk through and provided individual advice and career guidance.
Lead Practitioner of the Forward Leeds IPS team Caroline Harley-Senior said: “AMS/HSBC were really supportive and helpful. We all felt that we learnt something, even the IPS staff. The recruiters from AMS said they would like to know how the clients get on in the future.”
“It was a good afternoon, very enjoyable and a good confidence builder for the IPS clients. It was a great opportunity for the clients and IPS staff. AMS/HSBC are already talking about doing another one, already, which is great for the people we support.”
Sarah Walters from AMS who recruits for HSBC said: “The volunteer day is about helping people and giving something back. As recruiters, this is what we do but we want to help and support and help people who need it the most”
The event was held in the Leeds Business Improvement District (BID) offices on Briggate on Thursday 25th May.
