Specialist Addiction Practitioner (COMHAD)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Specialist Co-Occurring Mental Health Alcohol and Drugs (COMHAD) Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team. The team consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychologist, Mental Health Nurses, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Specialist Health Visitor, and a Specialist Midwife.

The role will include specialist addiction treatment, including psychosocial and pharmacological interventions, harm reduction, & risk management to service users with co-existing mental health and/or pregnancy needs. The team is trauma-informed and offers a formulation-driven, psychological model.

The successful candidate will hold a caseload as well as delivering psychosocial interventions to service users to support the wider service. Excellent training, supervision and support from an experienced team based in a clinical centre of excellence will be offered.

There are excellent specialist training opportunities such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and a focus on career development. The successful candidate will have opportunities to facilitate specialist psychosocial group work and involvement with service development.
