Senior Community Support Worker

We are looking for a Senior Community Support Worker who has experience of working with people with substance use issues, who may also be experiencing mental and physical health difficulties.

The successful candidate will work alongside Specialist Addiction Practitioners based in the community, supporting people who are looking to make changes to their substance use.

There will be training, supervision and support from an experienced team based in a clinical centre of excellence.

Main duties of the job
The Community Support Worker in the CCG Alcohol Treatment Team will work in close collaboration with Specialist Addiction Practitioners to do such things as:

  • Provide direct support to service users undertaking medically assisted alcohol detoxes in the community.
  • Monitor physical health during alcohol detoxification. This will include blood pressure monitoring, breathalysing and being able to assess alcohol withdrawal using identified tools.
  • Implement agreed Specialist psychosocial interventions plans, which supports the service users treatment plan.
  • Demonstrate and role model constructive person centred approaches to the person’s family or care team to increase their ability to provide effective interventions.
  • Contribute to the assessment, planning and evaluation of care provided.
