GP Based – Focussed Intervention Team Worker

We have an excellent opportunity for an alcohol and drug practitioner who is passionate about working with people, understands safeguarding and risk management, who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team and can work in partnership with a range of agencies and establish positive working relationships. The successful candidate will work within a number of different GP surgeries from where they will motivate patients to make positive changes to their drinking or substance misuse.

Please note: We will consider applicants with less experience, or their own lived experience, who may be looking to work within substance misuse services for the first time and want to start this role as a trainee. The trainee role would involve a comprehensive induction period, including regular supervision and peer support from members of the Forward Leeds management team and the wider team. As a trainee worker, you would spend time familiarising yourself with all areas of the service and would be supported to learn and develop in all aspects of the role. Please indicate on your application form if you would like to be considered for a trainee position. We would also consider applicants who may wish to carry out this role as part of a job share

We are looking for someone with confidence, good communication, record keeping skills and the ability to build on established relationships within GP practices. They will have a base in one of the main Forward Leeds treatment hubs when not in GP practices and will help contribute to the excellent recovery focussed outcomes that Forward Leeds delivers. You will be expected to travel across the city to carry out the role.
