The successful candidate will motivate service users and will support them to make positive changes to their drinking or substance misuse.
They will have a good knowledge of harm reduction messages, risk management, recovery planning, therapeutic interventions and be able to support clients in addressing their alcohol and drug (non-opiate) problems. They will need to be confident in their abilities, have good communication and record-keeping skills and be self-motivated. This role will require a combination of hub-based and home working.
Your role will be to work with service users who identify as having problems with drugs (predominantly non opiates) and alcohol and deliver appropriate interventions in a time bound manner. You will also be required to promote the service and communicate advice and information to the general public through coordinated attendance at a wide range of city wide events, presentations to varied groups, one to one engagement, work within the night time economy and many other types of public interaction. You will be based within one of our three hubs, where you will also have responsibilities, and therefore support the effective running of an integrated alcohol and drug treatment service.
