Do you have a passion for supporting vulnerable people and helping them to make changes to their substance/alcohol use? We have an excellent opportunity for an alcohol and drug practitioner, who is able to work as part of the BARCA Focussed Intervention Housing Team at Forward Leeds.
The successful candidate will motivate service users and will support them to make positive changes to their drinking or substance use and maintain accommodation appropriate to their needs. They will have a good knowledge of how poor housing and potential homelessness can impact on someone’s ability to manage their alcohol and substance use and knowledge of harm reduction, risk management, recovery planning, therapeutic interventions and be able to support clients to address their alcohol and drug (non-opiate) problems. They will need to be confident in their abilities, have good communication and record keeping skills and be self-motivated. This role will require a combination of hub based and home working. They will be an integral part of Forward Leeds working with partners across the service internally and developing external partnerships, including working alongside Leeds Housing Options; and contribute to the excellent recovery focussed outcomes that Forward Leeds delivers.
