Forward Leeds Young Persons Team Brings Drop-In Events to Local Communities

Forward Leeds Young Persons Team will be hosting a series of informal drop-in sessions across community hubs in Leeds throughout August and early September.

These are to raise awareness about young people using drugs and alcohol, and to offer support.

The sessions aim to inform the local community about the services available for young people who may be using substances, and to provide a space where friends, family members or concerned others can speak to the team, ask questions, and even make referrals on the day.

Each session includes a relaxed meet-and-greet with a hot drink and biscuits, followed by a short presentation about the support Forward Leeds can offer and how to access it.

Young Persons Service Manager Nazia Latif said: “We want people from every community and culture to feel confident that they can turn to us for support. These drop-ins are a chance for people to get to know us, understand what we do, and see that our service is here to help — without judgment, in a safe, welcoming space.”

“These drop-in events are open to anyone with concerns about young people and substance use — whether you’re a family member, a friend, or simply part of the local community who wants to learn more.”
