Forward Leeds was proud to take part in the recent West Yorkshire Liver Care Operational Delivery Network (WYLCODN) that brought together stakeholders from across the region. The event offered an excellent opportunity for collaboration, learning and celebration among professionals dedicated to improving liver health.
One of the key highlights of the day was a special recognition of Forward Leeds achieving micro-elimination of hepatitis C within the service — a significant milestone that reflects years of committed work, partnership, and innovation in patient care.

To mark this achievement, Anne-Marie McMullan from Forward Leeds and Debbie Moores from the Waythrough charity delivered a powerful presentation, sharing the journey towards elimination.

Attendees were shown the video “Don’t Live in Doubt – Treatment for Hepatitis C in Leeds”, featuring people’s positive stories of treatment. This was followed by a moving film of the Forward Leeds Hep C Champions, highlighting the personal impact of reaching micro-elimination for both staff and people we support
John Fox, Programme Manager at the Hepatitis C Trust, gave an insightful presentation on the vital partnership between the Hepatitis C Trust, Forward Leeds, and the WYLCODN — a collaboration that has been fundamental in achieving this goal.

As part of the celebration, trophies were presented to individuals and teams who made outstanding contributions to reaching micro-elimination, recognising their dedication and hard work.

After the Forward Leeds recognition session, attendees enjoyed a relaxed afternoon tea, generously sponsored by Gilead Sciences, providing valuable time for networking and sharing experiences with colleagues from across West Yorkshire.
The day was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through partnership working, shared goals, and a continued focus on improving care for people across our communities. Forward Leeds are incredibly proud to have played a part in such a meaningful step forward for hepatitis C treatment in West Yorkshire.
