Drug and Alcohol Recovery Coordinator x 2 (city centre based)

We are seeking an exceptional Recovery Coordinator to join the Active Recovery team at Forward Leeds. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people. Someone who can build positive working relationships with our service users and someone with excellent organisational skills.

As directed by the Team Manager, the Recovery Coordinator will be an integral member of the dynamic multi-agency team developing comprehensive and tailored individual interventions that will include delivery of a full range of structured, open access, one-to-one and group support.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage a service user caseload and review on going care and treatment liaising closely with the full range of specialist workers within the multi-agency team, including family members and significant others, as appropriate.
  • To coordinate reduction and detoxification plans with a view to positively discharging a variable proportion of Service Users from the ‘Opiate’ substance group.
  • To exercise excellent communication skills and therapeutic skills when dealing with Service Users, Carers, and Caring agencies.
  • Support Service Users to access resources and services to increase their Recovery Capital to help them achieve their Recovery goals and promote family, carer and Service User Involvement.
  • To lead in relation to on-going assessment, safeguarding, Risk assessment and Recovery Planning.
  • To work closely and in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team from across the partnership and externally and provide advice and guidance to managers and other colleagues, through attendance at reviews, team meetings and group supervision and via the telephone.
  • To provide effective coordination of the individuals Recovery Plan and promote family, Carer and Service User Involvement.
  • To improve the outcomes for children of Service Users by reducing the impact of drug and alcohol related harm on family life and to promote family involvement in treatment.
