Psychological Practitioner (Clinical, Counselling, Forensic) / CBT Therapist / Psychotherapist / Health Psychologist

Are you looking for somewhere you can make a significant meaningful difference to people’s lives?

Do you want to work with some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals in our society? And contribute towards building innovative and responsive systems and working in ways that put people at it’s heart?

An opportunity has arisen for an HCPC registered Psychological Practitioner to contribute in the expansion of a new service supporting people who are experiencing homelessness and compound complex needs, including substance misuse, mental and physical health difficulties. Working within Forward Leeds and LYPFT, one of the biggest substance misuse services in the country, the team works to help some of the most marginalised people in the city to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their lives. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what’s needed to have the most positive impact for people who struggle to access our mainstream services due to their social, economic and psychological circumstances.

You will contribute to our trauma-informed service, ensuring that psychological perspectives are central to everyone’s thinking. You will support the empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people we support. Through direct and indirect clinical work, consultancy, clinical supervision, reflective practice, team formulation, training, and clinical case management, you will support the team to continue to deliver an innovative and effective service that adheres to best practice guidelines and the delivery of high-quality care.

As part of the street team, you will work alongside other professionals and agencies in order to consider the multiple needs of the people we serve. You will also play a role in the continued development of the service.

You will be supported and managed by a well-established COMHAD (co-occurring mental health and alcohol and drug) team and their principal clinical psychologist. This multi-disciplinary team will support through training, supervision, peer support and a passion for this area of work.
