5 WAYS, the recovery hub for Leeds, recently passed over 200 members and on the 23rd of February celebrated its continuing success with another of its popular Open Mic Nights.
Acts ranged from musicians and comedians to singers and spoken word performers.
Jo Byrden, manager of 5 WAYS said: “The Open Mic Nights are a great chance to celebrate recovery. This time we had people travel from as far as Withernsea in East Yorkshire to perform here, which just shows how big these nights have become for the recovery community”.
Jo continued: “They give budding amateurs and experienced performers in recovery, a platform to have a go under the spotlight.”
Hannah Wraith, Recovery Coordinator at Forward Leeds said: “Every time these nights seem to get better. The quality of the performers is amazing and the positive feeling in the room was palpable. It was such an inspiring night.
Food for the 100+ attendees and performers was provided by the 5 WAYS staff members Carla and Helen.
