Forward Leeds runs half marathon for St. George’s Crypt

Staff from drug and alcohol service Forward Leeds are running to raise funds for a charity that works with the homeless and vulnerable in the city.

Six members of the team at Forward Leeds are running in the Leeds Half Marathon on the 14th of May and raising money for St. George’s Crypt.

St. George’s Crypt are a Leeds based charity set up in 1930 to help people suffering from homelessness, addiction and other vulnerabilities. They offer food, temporary accommodation and a range of other services including housing support.

Nicola Lines from Forward Leeds said: “Our Forward Leeds runners have been training hard for this and we want to make as much money as possible for St George’s Crypt.

“We help and support people from a variety of backgrounds and in all circumstances at Forward Leeds.

And she added: “St. George’s Crypt offer assistance to our clients who are in the greatest need of help. We all feel passionate about helping vulnerable people and we wanted to run to show our support for the great work they do at St. George’s Crypt for Leeds”

Chris Fields, CEO of St. George’s Crypt said, “We have worked with Forward Leeds since their inception and this is a brilliant and organic development of this partnership. We thank them and hope they run the race they want to!’
