355 children will be getting a Christmas gift through Forward Leeds, all thanks to Malcolm Michaels Butchers.
The Family Plus team at Forward Leeds are out delivering the Christmas gifts, donated at Malcolm Michaels Butchers, to parents being supported by the alcohol and drug service.
The butchers, based in Crossgates Shopping Centre in east Leeds, have been asking visitors to the centre to donate gifts that the butchers are passing on to Forward Leeds and the Children Liver Disease Foundation that are then delivered by their teams to children across the city.
Family Plus team manager Lucy Fowler said: “We have been blown away this year by the generosity of visitors to Crossgates Shopping Centre who left presents for the children of people we support.
“Without their kindness and compassion, a lot of children would not have had much of a Christmas this year at all.
“The Family Plus team have been working really hard to get these gifts out across Leeds to 187 of the families supported by Forward Leeds and I want to say a massive thank you to my team who have been amazing.
“An extra special thank you though to Malcolm Leary and the whole team at Malcolm Michaels butchers shop for organising this again, and donating so much of their own time and money to make it happen. For a lot of children in Leeds, Malcolm will be their Secret Santa.”
