The Hollybush Conservation Centre is an environmental volunteering centre that has been running for over 30 years.
Forward Leeds have organised a trip to Hollybush for clients and 5 WAYS members to explore volunteering and educational opportunities.
Hollybush provides a wide range of practical environmental activities for adults and young people, to help build confidence and gain employment. Everyone is welcome to get involved, through formal and informal training opportunities or by volunteering and taking part in social activities.
Projects Hollybush have been involved in include:
- Ponds & dipping platforms
- Habitat management (woodlands, wildflower meadows etc.)
- Dry stone walling
- …and more
As the UK’s leading practical conservation charity, the work they do goes much further than solely improving our natural environment for people and wildlife. By training and up-skilling volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and working within community spaces they encourage social development and cohesion too.
The trip to Hollybush leaves from 5 WAYS at 12:30 on 19 November or you can meet up at Hollybush at 1pm.
Please let Graham Hale or a 5 WAYS staff member know if you would like to attend.
