Safer Communities – Resource Packs Launch Event

Our Young Persons team will be attending this event to launch the 5 new resources packs developed by Barnardos and West Yorkshre Police to increase awareness of the additional vulnerabilities that LGBTQ young people can encounter in relation to: Hate Crime Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Internet Safety Domestic Violence Faith, Culture & Belief We will have a stall in the market place to discuss how we work with young people and in particular LGBTQ young people across Leeds.

Kirkstall Festival

We will be having a stall at the Kirkstall Festival on Saturday the 8th of July. Come ask members of the Forward Leeds team for any drugs and alcohol advice, and take part in trying the dartboard with our “beer goggles.” The festival will be a full day event, and will take place in the grounds of the 12th Century Kirkstall Abbey. This is Leeds’ largest running community festival, and last year attracted an estimated 25,000 people.

Forward Leeds Recover Academy

Recovery Academy Co-Production Group

A group led by people with lived experience which contributes to the development of the activities run from the chapel. Generating ideas, feeding back on current provision and influencing the development of future provision and community events. This group runs on the first Thursday of every month and is open for all Academy members.

Beeston Festival

The Forward Leeds team will be at Beeston Festival on Saturday the 15th of July. We will be there to answer any drugs and alcohol related questions – Come down and speak to a member of the team, or even get involved and try playing darts wearing the “beer goggles.” This festival will be filled with entertainment. There will be live music, with foods from around the world, and lot’s of activities for families to take part in.
