Sammie O’Connor, a Recovery Coordinator from the ​Forward Leeds Young Persons team was on BBC Look North on 11 January 2018,

This was following a rise in the national and local figures for deaths related to MDMA in 2016.

Joanne, a 22 year old maths student from Sheffield had died after taking ecstacy and her mother was interviewed as part of a recorded piece for broadcast.

Following the broadcast of the story Sammie was interviewed by Harry Gration and Amy Garcia live in the studio about the dangers of ecstasy and MDMA.

Sammie spoke about the dangers from differing strengths of ecstacy and how often what is sold as ecstacy is contaminated with a variety of other substances.
